Venue
The International Conference on Development and Implementation of a Master Degree Standard for Teacher and Trainer Education in TVET in East and South East Asia will be held from 9-10 December 2005. Hence, all participants are kindly requested to arrive in Tianjin, China, no later than Thursday evening (8 December 2005).
The Meeting will be held in the Tianyu Hotel Tianjin. Registration will be available from 10:00 to 18:00 on Thursday 8 December and from 08:00 to 09:00 on Friday 9 December at the hotel lobby. | |
Accommodation
Two hotels will be reserved as accommodations for participants: Tianyu Hotel Tianjin and Sheraton Tianjin Hotel. These two hotels are very close to each other at only walk distance.

Breakfast is included in the room rate. Lunches will be provided by the hotel as part of the meeting arrangements, and a charge will be made for that. In the evenings, several official receptions or dinners will be hosted, on other evenings participants are free to explore local restaurants as they choose. | |
Airport Transportation
Beijing International Airport is 200 km away (around 2 hours by bus) from Tianjin. Airport shuttle bus is available at the arrival terminal. Our attendants will lead you to the bus stop. There is no problem for participants arriving in Tianjin. And when you arrive in Tianjin you can get to Tianyu Hotel by Taxi. It will take you about 15 RMB. | |
Currency
The Chinese currency is Renminbi (RMB). The following credit cards can be used in China: Master Card, Visa Card, American Express, JCB, and Diners Card. Holders of these cards can draw cash from the Bank of China, buy goods and pay for purchases at exchange centres of the Bank of China, appointed shops, hotels and restaurants.
The Bank of China can cash travellers' checks sold by international commercial banks and travellers' check companies of the United States, Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Britain, France, Switzerland, Germany and other countries and regions. Also the Bank of China sells travellers' checks for such banks as American Express, Citibank, Tongjilong Travellers' Check Co., the Sumitomo Bank of Japan, the Swiss Banking Corporation and others.
Foreign currencies cannot be circulated within the People's Republic of China or used to determine the price and settle accounts. China can accept and convert into Chinese Renminbi such foreign currencies as the US dollar, British pound, Euro, Japanese yen, Australian dollar, Austrian schilling, Belgian franc, Canadian dollar, HK dollar, Swiss franc, Danish Krone, Singapore dollar, Malaysian ringgit, Italian lira, Macao dollar, Finnish markka, and Taiwan dollar. Exchange rates are issued daily by the State Administration of Exchange Control. Before leaving China, unused Chinese Renminbi can be converted back into foreign currencies with a "foreign exchange certificate" which is valid for six months. | |
Visa
Participants are required to obtain, where necessary, an entry visa to the People’s Republic of China from the Chinese diplomatic or consular mission in their own or neighbouring countries in advance. The visa however is not necessary for visitors from nations with a Visa Exemption Agreement with the Chinese Government. Any cost incurred for obtaining visa should be borne by the participants. | |
Weather
In December, Tianjin will be cold. It is suggested to bring jackets or sweaters with you. | |
